Celebrate the CED Program with Lawmakers & Grantees in DC
CED Banner
The Community Economic Development (CED) program has been an important source of federal funding for community development corporations (CDCs) for more than 30 years. CDCs use CED funds to create and expand businesses, finance facilities, and create jobs in low-income communities that are targeted for low-income individuals. Join NACEDA on November 29 in Washington, DC at The Madison Hotel to celebrate this vital program and ensure it can continue to help expand opportunities in low-income communities. View the agenda and speakers.

The participation of CDCs in this event will be a powerful message and signal to federal policymakers about the value of the CED program and encourage support for expanding resources. The celebration will include a luncheon, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and a reception to honor champions of the program. Register at no cost — in person or virtual. And, make sure to reserve your hotel room by Friday, November 11 for the discounted rate.

Grant Partnership Supports Accessory Dwelling Units in California

The California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA) is partnering with the California Housing Finance Agency to help low- and moderate-income homeowners receive $40,000 grants to cover pre-construction costs for building accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Residents can apply for the grant directly through CCEDA. This partnership comes as California budgets $100 million in grant funding to encourage the construction of ADUs. Beyond the grants, those homeowners who require further financing towards the final project budget can access a second mortgage with CCEDA through pre-approved lenders.

“The lack of affordable housing has become the primary problem facing the State of California,” said Roberto Barragan, Executive Director at CCEDA. “Construction of ADUs provides the fastest immediate solution to that problem and helps low- and moderate-income homeowners create a valuable secondary income source.”
