Welcome to the 2023 Money Meets Community series — a collection of reports exploring the lines of business and financial resources of local community economic development organizations across the United States.

The series was commissioned by the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA) as part of its Grounding Values in Research program. It arrives at a critical juncture for our country’s low- and moderate-income people and places and the local organizations dedicated to serving them.

The Money Meets Community Series will explore how financial resources flow within and among community economic development organizations. Each brief will focus on a different topic.

NACEDA began the Grounding Values in Research program as a service to the local community economic development organizations that advance prosperity and equity. Now is the moment to spotlight the historical and future achievements of these crucial organizations, their missions, and their challenges.
