Maggie headshotMaggie Kentilitisca, Americorps VISTA

Maggie joined NACEDA in July of 2021 as the Thriving Networks VISTA. During her AmeriCorps VISTA service year, she will work with staff to continue strengthening NACEDA’s Thriving Networks program. Her primary responsibilities include providing peer-to-peer capacity-building opportunities, supporting existing projects, implementing applications to improve virtual learning systems, and building and systematizing the administrative processes for NACEDA events, including the NACEDA Summit and Resilient Communities Forum.

Having immigrated to New Mexico from the Philippines at a young age, Maggie is deeply committed to serving minority communities and giving voice to underrepresented groups. While an undergraduate, she studied International Relations at the University of New Mexico, where she studied abroad in the Middle East and learned Arabic. In return, she used her skills to serve refugee populations in Albuquerque, NM, and work with nonprofit organizations to support the financial independence of immigrant women. Maggie is proud to serve a second term with AmeriCorps; her first was as a Public Ally at Lutheran Family Services Refugee & Asylee Programs. She is currently working towards a Master’s degree in International Development at the American University School of International Service to continue a lifelong career in public service.
