The only national organization representing community economic development
corporations (CDCs) across the country elected new officers at a July meeting
in Chicago. NACEDA also celebrated the addition of 10 new members since
February. NACEDA's members represent more than 1,200 CDCs nationally. Read

Housing Institute offers CDCs, local officials,
and other stakeholders, including local institutional, business, and community
leaders, a new way to look at how they can manage neighborhood change in
order to bring about sustainable and equitable revitalization. The neighborhood
change model and strategic toolkit includes a powerpoint

in Lending
A National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC)
study reveals that Middle or upper income status does not shield minorities

Increasing foreclosures are fast-becoming the number one problem facing
community development associations, with mortgage fraud, questionable lending
practices and job loss all contributing, a new NACEDA survey shows. Community
development associations are key participants in state level initiatives

NACEDA is joining sister organizations in two important policy letters,
one supporting restoration of HOME Investment Partnerships funding and
the second supporting legislation to correct the Regulatory Relief Act.

letters.NACEDA supports the launch of the Housing America Campaign NACEDA and its 1200 local community development corporation members support the launch of the Housing America Campaign. “We are pleased to join this campaign, as there is an urgent need in this country for more affordable housing in communities of all types - urban, suburban and rural.” More details here.
