 NACEDA member helps secure $1 billion housing bond in MA
The Massachusetts Association of CDCs (MACDC)
worked in coalition to pass housing bond legislation ensuring
$1.225 billion to build and
preserve affordable housing in the Commonwealth. Signed
into law on May 29th at affordable apartments developed by
an MACDC member, the Allston-Brighton CDC, the bill ensures
funding for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the Housing Stabilization
Fund and the Housing Innovations Fund. Click

Through its member network state associations, NACEDA represents more than 2,000 community development corporations. In 2005, as an industry total (aggregate), CDCs produced/created: 1.3 million homes (since 1988), 774,000 new jobs and 126 million sq feet of commercial/industrial space,
housing for special needs populations and nearly 2/3 of CDCs offer homeownership counseling.
